Would it be worth it to upgrade from 550ti to 470gtx?

Hi,

I currently have a nvidia 550ti graphics card. I have a someone that wants to sell me their 470gtx for a decent price, would it be worth my time and money to upgrade to this card, are there any significant differences in gaming performance?. Also, I currently have a hec X ORION 585 WATT POWER SUPPLY. Would this power supply be able to handle the 470 or would I need to upgrade?

Thanks in advance for advice

It can handle it, assuming the PSU is decent quality and not false adversing their wattage. Also yes its a good upgrade, well worth it, what resolution do you play at and what other specs do you have?

Wait till October/ November because if the 780 drops you'll be able too get a 580 for the price your about too pay for a 470. Unless your dying too burn a hole in your pocket i say wait.

Also yeah your psu is fine for most high end single card solutions.

I would recommand to burn this power supply before he decides to do it by itself inside your rig.

Here's my full system specs

8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1333MHz (PC3 10600) Dual Channel
Hitachi / WD 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB CACHE SATA 3.0Gb/s
22X DUAL LAYER DVD-RW W/LIGHTSCRIBE (PROMO ITEM)
nVidia GeForce GTX550 Ti 1GB DDR5 2-DVI/HDMI SLI PCI-EXP Video Card
REALTEK 8-CHANNEL DIGITAL SOUND ONBOARD
REALTEK 10/100/1000 Gigabit Network Card (onboard)
BCC VOYAGER MID-TOWER ATX
hec X ORION 585 WATT POWER SUPPLY (MEDIUM LOAD)
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Also I was doing some research on the graphics card and it says it has two 6-pin connectors, does that mean the PSU will be required to have two as well? The current PSU I have specs says it only has 1 6 pin PCI Express connector.

I wouldn't even boot my computer with that power supply.
Change it along with the GPU or else you might have some bad surprise.

Even a 500 watts power supply that has a good branding could do it, but that HEC Xtra Crap sure can't deliver that wattage.
