Not many Bitfenix XL Shinobi WC?

Just wondering why not many people use the Bitfenix XL shinobi ?

It seems like a pretty cool case, capable of great air and water cooling.

Looks good in pictures, and plenty of room to expand.

Is there something I am missing why people do not buy this case?

I ask because I have recently damaged my CM 690 II Advanced top panel and can not get a replacement in Australia. mad.gif

It's a great case but people seem to prefer the switch 810, plus the xl is somewhat limited without modification (front rad mount) it can hold a 360 50mm rad with a 25mm fan but beyond cutting up the 5.25" bay nothing else could be put there.

shot of mine:

See I thought a 360 up top and 360 down bottom, with the room for two 120's would be plenty. IMO

But I guess choosing a case is a personal preference at the end.

It's because Tiny Tom Logan didn't give a very good review of it, and for fairly silly reasons. That, and BitFenix is still fairly 'unknown'.

The build quality of it deserves the nod over the NZXT Switch, IMO. I absolutely love my Shinobi XL.

The only reason I don't like it is because if you mount a rad in the bottom/front you lose all the drive bays unlike the switch 810.

Other then that I think its an excellent water cooling case.

That's a valid reason as well currently I'm using my ssd and a 2.5" drive in behind the motherboard tray to get around it.

I'm using the Shinobi XL Over the Switch in my next build for the sheer fact that the switch has those nasty slats on the top

All this is more then enough to convince me to save for the Shinobi XL (white I think)

The price difference is a fair bit here in Oz.

Switch 810 = $215 plus postage
Shinobi XL = $155 (plain black, no window) to $175 (white with window) plus postage

The $40 is more then enough for me to get some more of the Mayhems pastel blue and Masterkleer tubing I need to get it working biggrin.gif

Thanks for all your inputs.

Plus with things like this Silverstone 5.25' External Bay Bracket HDD mounting is a thing of the past.
Yeah, 5.25" bays are easily converted if you have a few HDDs. If you have SSD's, just mount them with some double sided mounting tape. Piece of cake.
