Need a part made out of acrylic - small size

Thread Starter
I have a small problem. Small part of an instrument i use broke. The part is made out of acrylic.

On the sketchup drawing i made, the part thickness is set to 5 mm but i believe its 1/4" which translates to 5.3 mm.
The hole in almost the middle of the part is for M4 threaded insert. I am not sure what diameter it should have but I made is slightly less than 4 mm so the insert had enough material to melt and fuze with. Any correction/discussion on this matter would be welcome.

In short: I need few parts like the one I broke made (see the attachments). Is anyone on this forum able to make those and if so - how much wold that cost me?

Suggestion... Since the part already broke once; why not have it made of aluminum this time and avoid any future breaks?

Aye, that would be my choice of material for this part anyways... Dunno why this part was made out of pmma, but too late for thinking about that now smile.gif

You could easily glue it back together with full strength, just make sure you use acrylic specific glue that melts/welds the pieces together.

But it's understandable if you'd like to have a few spares.

Yup, I'm waiting for weld-on to arrive. Ordered from amazon and waiting...
Also took a tour around the city to look for places that may be able to do it (machine shops, precision glass and plastic cutting places...etc) and so far not a single of them can do it...sadsmiley.gif Not a happy panda right now
