VERY BAD: ASUS VK278q

Thread Starter
I still can't tell if it's my Asus vk278q monitor or my Gigabyte GTX 670. I upgraded from a 6950, and then the issues rolled in.
Here are the problems:
With HDMI: screen turns black occasionally, need to cycle inputs
With VGA: Entire screen vibrates, something like an old CRT.
With DVI: Every minute or so the screen will flicker, like show one frame of some broken blue stuff.

I have already RMA'd my 670, and they say that it is fine.
Is it my monitor or my graphics card? The monitor is still under warranty.

Have you tried another monitor?

Also, have you tried putting your old card back in since the problems started?

Run OCCT with error checking enabled, if anything pops up it's the graphics card. If not, remove the drivers completely and reinstall them. If the problem still persists, I'd say it's your monitor or somehow all of your cables are messed up (very very unlikely)
That's pretty much everything I can imagine it would be.

I have another 720p monitor hooked up to the side and I have never seen any problems from it. I'm borrowing a displayport cable from a friend on monday so I can test that too. I'll run OCCT and see what I get.

I could get used to this vibration with VGA, but real life may become difficult. (i've been using the DVI with flicker until now)

I am using an Apevia Warlock 750w

I've seen the flicker while using OCCT (running for 20 minutes now), how does it tell me if there is a problem? Does it just crash?(that's how I would program it, biggrin.gif)

Before you start the gpu check there's a box named "Error checking enabled" or something like that, tick the box and you'll get some text saying it anything was wrong, or as preferred 0 problems detected. wink.gif
