Question about DVI to DP adapter

Hello everyone, I have a question about DVI to DP adapter.

Right now I have 2 monitors, first one is 27'' Shimian connected via DVI to my HD7850. Second one is 20'' Samsung connected via DVI to Intel HD3000.

I have DVI to HDMI adapter, but due to lack of spacing on the back of my HD7850, I can't connect it while DVI is connected. That's why I'm looking into DVI to DP adapter.

The one I'm looking at can be found on eBay if you search for "Mini DisplayPort DP To DVI Adapter Cable Male to Female For Apple Macbook Pro".

Is that adapter reliable and the one I need (female DVI to male DP)? Remember that I don't need it for 27'' Shimian (which requires dual link) but only for 20'' Samsung.

While we're on topic, what kind of performance increase/decrease can I expect from moving to single output (only HD7850 compared to HD7850 + HD3000)?

I suppose there will be less hassle around drivers, but what else? I use secondary monitor (smaller one) for system monitoring and extra working space.

Thanks for help.

Anyone? I was under the impression that those adapters weren't so uncommon among Overclock.net users because of multiple Korean monitor setups.
