Damn, the retina display was something I was hoping for on the iphone 5. It may have made me switch over to the darkside...... Oh well, we will see i guess...
Is this possible? You would think that this close to the ip5 launch apple would already have some kind of contract with suppliers in place for many months. Changes like this would have happened much sooner.

I actually don't like the idea of this happening. Even though I prefer iPhones over anyother phone, Samsung was a highly reputable and reliable Supplier. Now that they're role in supplying chips and displays is reducing, I hope Apple doesn't leave us with a sub par screen and phone. mad.gif

The article still mentioned multiple suppliers. Samsung simply isn't one of them.

If I remember correctly, LG is supplying them with displays built into the glass.

Which was a rumor, but would make sense.

at least now appleware will always be inferior (technically and mechanically).
Good idea, cut ties with your always reliable and quality supplier rolleyes.gif. I, even though truthfully an apple product fan, really hope this bites Apple in the ass hard. I hope they experience a plethora of issues, recalls, and supply shortages. They need a lesson of some sort imho.

Who are they going to use for mem chips now? Micron LOL
