lol. i want to say something but i think ill follow the rule as well.

ok i have to say at least one thing you are going to try and shoot U18? under 18 sports.... do you already shoot this? you realize if you show up with a camera unannounced parents will FREAK OUT. also I am 100% sure you cant sell those without some sort of contract, model release, parental consent, etc. check with that U18 league before you just start trying to shoot and sell pictures.

you cant just show up at a sports even and sell pictures. you have to check the rules with that league. just like when i shot college sports at my school. i checked NCAA rulebook and found out i cant give the photos to any players for free unless i give all photos to all players for free. i also couldnt sell my photos to stock websites. this is NCAA Division II rulebook which is different from Division I

i said more than i wanted. but thats as simple as i will get it. shooting sports and selling your images is insanely more complicated than you think. doesnt matter what level of sports you are shooting from 5 year old kids to professional athletes

I meant sites where you could sell stock photos while being under 18 years old, lol.

What's so bad about it? As I say, I have barely got time for anything.

it doesnt matter how old YOU are. it matters how old the person in your photo is...

if you barely have any time for anything then you probably dont have time to edit and go through the 1000 photos a normal sports photographer would take at a single sports event.

from your response i would say you might not be old enough to have enough business sense to get into stock photography. its not as easy as you think it is.

that is all im contributing to this topic

Lol. I used to come home with a few hundred images from sporting events, but never 1000+. I also thought shooting sports (especially field sports) sucked worse than a desk job, especially when you realize you could be watching the game in question from the stands while having a beer or 8.

i see what you did there lol

but yea no way are you going to shoot a sports event and come home with a few dozen images and expect to have a ton of quality keepers

i dont think i have ever shot more than 1000 images at a single sports event. but when shooting soccer i can say i would take on average about 300 shots per half, so on average maybe 600 at the very most per game. and if there was a double header then obviously double that number tongue.gif

i would have about maybe 150 keepers per half of soccer. and would only get maybe 20 just outstanding action shots out of all of them.

Wow. I now see why it isn't a viable option.
