You are entitled to your own opinion, but your posts are creating an environment where other members won't want to help for fear of your reprisal and that hurts the community.

Lol. Alright.

Mirrorless cameras are in a different league than point-and-shoots, and aren't directly comparable. Just because something costs the same does not always mean it is a viable alternative, especially given the OP's requirements.

My opinions come from experience with a wide range of cameras, printing and selling photographs, not buying 8000 dollars worth of digital camera equipment to post 900x600 pixel shots on flickr. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but when your suggestions do not correlate with real life, someone has to be the one to call you on it, like your proclamation in another thread that outputting JPGs to print was a viable option. Sure, you can do a lot of things if you don't care about your work or treat photography like another technology-gear-hording hobby.

Wow that was uncalled for. you're either not reading my posts carefully or I can't clearly communicate. Either way, I'm glad you're secure in the knowledge that you know everything and no one else has a clue. Very classy to attack me because of my gear without knowing anything about me too.

For the record, I'm not in love with the S100. is all this really from me saying I don't think the RX100 is worth the money? Way to discourage discussion and drive away OCN members. I suppose that's what I get for trying to help another member. I won't make that mistake again.

you have totally misread everything posted. has nothing todo with your gear. never did. the fact that you made it about your gear when it was never attacked or even directly referenced further strengthens sub50hz's argument about people that get caught up about the gear rather than just taking photos.

Again, I have stated that I would much rather have a MILC/small DSLR if possible within my budget, which it is. So please leave all P&S discussion out of here. Thanks smile.gif

The biggest differentiation in suggestions you'll get is determined by how badly you need different lenses and focal lengths. The best compromise in image quality, overall portability due to size and build quality is still the x100 unless you need a zoom or something wider/longer than the effective 35mm focal length the x100 offers. You don't explicitly need a macro for photographing your computer, and you don't explicitly need a telephoto to shoot pictures outdoors, though if your shooting style and carry weight/size demand those things, you should be prepared to always need a camera bag.

Can you explain that a bit better?

You can't et closer to waterfalls, for example, and natural wonders are normally behind something to make sure you don't touch them. Without optical zoom youd have to use digital zoom which is not really ideal.

Listen to subby.

He helped me with my camera/lens purchase and I'm extremely pleased...his recommendations were spot on.
