Is a D5 enough or two are better?

A friend of mine wants to go full liquid with cpu-gpu-mb and even ram blocks, and on top of that he wants one of those 1080 massive rads. I told him it's a massive waste of money but he isn't listening to me so whatever biggrin.gif
Do you guys thing a single D5 is enough to push all that stuff? I'm not sure about it and I told him he would probably need 2. Is that correct?

Not sure if 2 is required, but, it is always better to have two pumps for redundancy, in my opinion.

With the restriction you seem to be indicating, DDCs may be a better choice? Not sure, I am not what you would call a guru.

Depending on how many blocks, I would say MCP35X2 is the way to go.

I would suggest 1, becouse i am using a d5 with ek top now, going from:

500mm res>pump>cpu>mosfet 1>mosfet 2> mb block> gpu> 3 meter to rad> Rad (large 1 meter long AC rad with 18 pipes)>3 meter tube>res

Most of the 1080 rads are not very restrictive, and even i am using my pump on stand 1 only for the noise reduction.

My suggestion: 1 is enough.
Two pumps are always better, less noise, redundancy and piece of mind.

As i said, i am using my pump on the lowest rpm, so for the noise you dont have to do it. My rad is passive and i get with intel burn in test temps of 50c (stock i7 920) with 25 room temp.

There's no way you can know until you've added up the restrictions of everything you are planning to run in series. You could be anywhere between being ok with a single D5 to needing 3 D5s or a couple MCP35X's. If everything is low restriction to average, then two D5s in series should be fine.
