Repeated On/Off Cycles

Thread Starter
Uuh so repeated On/Off of HDDs is known to reduce lifespan etc.
Does the same apply to mice?
I`m using a logitech MX620 and it automatically powers off if I dont use it.
Is that bad for my mouse?

I don't think so, they are probably built to last through more power cycles than you are likely to go through.

It's probably been tested though, contact Logitech and see? If you do I'd be very interested to know what they have to say about this!

With it being a laser mouse I highly doubt that it would prematurely kill your mouse before you replaced it. Like mine that is over 5 years old and its finally starting to mess up after my hand has rubbed off alot of paint off the palm rest and the left mouse button.

Oh and i found this http://www.bob-weber.com/downloads/pdfs/white_paper/WP_laserlife.pdf if they use a diode laser this will probably apply to the mouse. Even tho it is talking about engraving or cutting lasers i think lol.
