GPU based server setup? - Page 3

I agree with Granno. Since he said 2KW power limit, 4x7970s should still be in within limits while producing the most. But then you need to worry about the heat issues. I would just buy one or two at a time if possible, and let it run so you can tell if your going to have problems before your dedicated.

had a look at my power requirement on my HD7970 GPUs and it adds up to a mare 150~175W per GPU when BOINCing smile.gif
Mmmmmmm. . . . . Cheap

Edit: On MilkyWay@Home the power requirement on my GPUs went up to 250~265W per GPU

Wow... Is that super-overclocked or stock speeds? Does lowering the memory speed help?

Anyways, hmmm.... not any better than a single HD6990 doing MW power wise... but much faster speed wise...

Deegon, I've got the same question as Tex. If you drop the memory speed does the power use drop? And, if it does, do you see any increase in the WU completion times?

Sorry about the delay on getting back to you, but yep supper-overclocked smile.gif but with out water-cooling it and increasing the volts i could not get it stable frown.gif
still though i had it down to about 36~35 seconds
I like to get it to the point where it will run for about a month without needing a shut-down, witch needed some extra volts added to it, about 42mV.
42mV above the max volts on the stock overclock
My objective is to get 100% passes in all projects and find an overclock that is stable in the dead of summer smile.gif
