Optimizing air flow/silence with the NZXT Switch 810 - Page 2

The case has a clear window. I don't have enough headers on the motherboard. I can use 3 headers on the motherboard, but I have a splitter which makes 4 headers. The switch 810 has some fan connections that require a molex to power them up. These will go full speed though. Which fans should I plug into the board and which into the fan connections for max speed? And how should I use the adapters?

Oh and should I use the AF120 as rear exhaust?

wouldn't you want intake front and bottom and exhaust back and top? that was always my understanding of it.

@ brownie. You could do that but top intake is better if you don't have a rad hanging around there.

@ atham. I would buy a fancontroller with enough channels for each fan... Scyte has up to 12 channel ones for a reasenable(sorry for my english) price

I don't want to be buying anything new. My dad will be quite mad if I did so.

Is there a big difference between fully loaded with fans and with my current config. I want to make use of the things that I have.

A good idea is try to have similar fan so different noises dont occur. I have all my fans ~ 7v. I keep all 4 NZXT 140mm in the HDDs since i got them full and just use other fans for RAD and that s it.

Can you tell us you're actual problem with the case as of now?

Do you need more air flow or do you want the case to be quiet?

Personally I have 4 NZXT 140mm fans on a single channel on my fan controller. Going from 40% speed (the lowest my fan controller goes) to 100% speed really makes little to no difference. I consider myself pretty conscious of the ambient noise stuff in my room makes too. If you want the best air flow I suggest putting two 140mm fans in the swivel drive bays of the switch, and two 140mm fans as top intakes. Get a decent fan controller (nzxt mesh is not much only $25) and lower them when are just surfing the net.

How many fans CAN you power?
Thread Starter
Using the motherboard I can power 4 fans using a splitter. I can use the Switch 810 fan connections but they go 100% RPM. Most likely I will be getting a fan controller when I will be needing to get something i.e. keyboard. What fan controllers would you recommend. Use this site: www.alza.sk
