I have a Bitfenix Hydra Pro fan controller and it is absolutely awesome. I have two channels running 3x 140mm 1800rpm Bgears Blasters each, one channel running 4x Koolance 120x25mm 2600rpm fans, and the other two channels have 4 140mm and one 80mm split between them. I also have a White Switch 810, and the "Softouch bezel" PERFECTLY matches the soft black trim of the case. I am incredibly happy with the unit, especially since I think that sliders look 1000 times better than dials for a case like this. For the price, it is an absolute steal. The Recon seems a bit more focused on gimmicks, and it also gives up a lot of fan power to do so.
I seriously doubt you would be anything but extremely pleased with the Hydra Pro.

Just looked at that controller. Indeed looks good. And with the setup on my image it will go 'cool' believe me I'm sure.

And BTW PSU is no intake if you don't strip it. Look at it very closely and you'll see I'm wright

Yes mate, I use the Lamptron FC5, mainly I like the display, but it has 4 x 20w output, so could control heaps of fans.
Most of the time it just on full 12v (1050rpm), but if i want it even quieter I turn it down to 6v (600rpm) and still get great airflow. My graphics card fan makes the most noise.

I will most likely be watercooling in a couple of years. Should I get a fan controller in those 3 years time or not?

Only if you cant control the fans you are using, from the board. And like to have toys and control in your rig.
Water cooling to me, is an expensive, minimum return, risk.
I had a good system on water for 3 years and then it leaked, dead board and graphics card. mad.gif
If you like too overclock to the max then it has it's place, but most modern systems O'clock very well on air. biggrin.gif
I'm at 4.4gig with a 3770k at max temps 60c and 1300/6600mhz with a GTX680FTW 4gig at max temp 68c.
I don't think it is worth the risk or cost to gain a little more.
BUT it is a whole lot of fun and silence.
Your choice !!!!! thumb.gif

Ivy Bridge doesn't really benefit from water cooling like Sandy Bridge / E (SBE benefits hugely), but GPUs are the best thing to Watercool, with max-OC'd cards staying in the 40s under load.
