Aha! I never liked Furmark anyway tongue.gif, always made me feel uneasy when testing. So I'll stick to more realistic stability tests like Heaven Engine, and some play thrus of BF3 when I have time. And I don't think OC'ing has changed that much from Fermi to Kepler, so is it safe to say that OC'ing my memory will have minimal effect on FPS?

No! Actually the biggest change IS overclocking the memory. thumb.gif

Oh really, wow I didn't think it'd have that much of a difference because I didn't think I was that bandwith starved at 1080p. I'll try to attain the max OC I can for that then.

Yes going from 198 GB/s to 238 GB/s help a TON. It helps so much compared to say the 500's because its bus is smaller then a 570 or 580.

Well setting my mem clock offset to +500 seems to be stable. That puts me at 1800mhz according to GPU-Z. So isn't that 7.2ghz effective? Is that too high?
GPU-Z Sshot
I made my fan profile more agressive in MSI AB so now I load at 67c in BF3, so now I don't downclock and it's always at 1280mhz for the core. Also, do you recommend any stress/stability tests in particular?

Heaven and BF3 is what I use. And no it is not to high, I am at 7408.. As long as it is stable it is fine.

Alright thanks again, +rep'd everyone who helped smile.gif. Time to tinker more!

I agree with those who have said Furmark is not easy going. I used it a few times and got nowhere with it. Definitely use Heaven Benchmarks and things like that. Good luck with the OC'ing smile.gifthumb.gif

You will not be bandwidth starved at 1080p/1200p.
A 670 beats a 7970 at that resolution.

Even a 1440p or 1600p it won't make a difference.
Only at eyefinity/3DS type resolutions and even then the advantage of a 384bit bus isn't much better.
Anyways,

to answer your question, you will need a 10-15% overclock on your 670 to reach stock 680 speeds or exceed them.
I'd say around 1000 core should be close.
