DFI Blood Iron P35 Problem

Thread Starter
I'm resurrecting my old blood iron for a htpc but have run into a snag, I can't enter the bios at all I get is a command prompt looking screen witha blue like loading bar at the bottom of my screen. I've tryed clearing the cmos with the jumpers and also the battery pull trick, but all have failed. I have also pulled all but one ram chips and use 2 different proven working ram cards. Any help would be great and reps for the good help.

E6650 and bios I can't remember but I use to run a Q6600 in it before this, from the picture included is what I'm getting right before I go into the bios. Don't mind the Pentium 4 processor I put that in there to see if I was having problems with cpu's, I'm in the process of putting the E6550 back in.

Here's what I want you to do.....

1) Power off / unplug the power from that machine.
2) Press and hold power button for 15-20 seconds (to drain all capacitors)
3) Remove CMOS battery
4) Wait 30+ minutes

Then try it again, with the battery out. See if you can get in. If you can, pull power (and drain caps again), and put the battery back).

My old blood iron used to do strange things when I had a flash drive or external drive plugged into the USB during boot sometimes.

I used that thing for years and years.

Would you look at that, I now can enter the bios, I did disconnect the front usb cable and removed the wifi adapter from the back. I used to use the wifi adapter before I don't understand why that would halt anything but whatever.

But on another note yes I can enter bios but when I go into PC HEALTH the computer freezes and have to hard shutdown (tested it 3 times), everything else seems to run fine except this.

On a serious note though I've built numerous or salvaged many a computers in my day, I find that even if the parts are all brand spanking new or a decade old nothing ever just works the first go. I feel the only reason over the years I know anything about computers is the agony they put me through...
