PC P&C Cooling Silencer Mk III 600W or OCZ ZT 650W

So basically, after reading the jonnyguru reviews on these two units it looks like the Silencer is slightly better in terms of performance and quality, and also looks better imo (going in a white 500r - matches perfectly). But, the OCZ has a way quieter fan, and this is definitely a feature I was looking for. I can't decide what is more important to me though.

Here are links to both fans Silencer, OCZ, I'm assuming the mic is positioned at the same place even know the camera clearly isn't, but it's still a dramatic difference. I'm not sure if the psu will even get hot enough for the fan to ramp up though, it'll be mounted fan down in the 500r on my desk so airflow should be as good as it gets for a psu. Thoughts?

The ZT isn't considerably quieter than the MKIII, they're both good mainstream units, I'd pick the ZT simply because it's indy regulated and fully modular, the MKIII on the other hand is white (and you mentioned that's really important) and it uses only Japanese caps.... either one you pick, you should be fine.... however, I'd suggest choosing between the MKIII 500W and the ZT 550W, they're already more than you need (and can use).

I'm going to have to read up one what independent/group regulated actually entails, got the gist of it for now. But, I have a feeling that's what will end up making my decision. I'm buying from a local store and they have the units I listed on sale, they also don't have any decent 500w units so I figured what the hell

Edit - Ah, they actually do have the 550w OCZ in stock and on sale too. Think I'm going to go with that, too many things working against the Silencer at this point - sorry PC P&C I wanted to want you rolleyes.gif
