I think this design has some win and lose at the same time. This heat sink will get soaked with heat when over clocking the memory and gpu core with this design.

where did you buy the HD 7950 vapor-x from ? is it with the game bundle ? when you get the card can you let us know if its the dual 8 pin power connector version or the 8+ 6 version. will you be crossfiring with your existing watercooled Sapphire HD 7950 950 mhz card ? post your OC experience with lots of data (OC clocks, OC voltage, temps, perf) in the HD 7900 users thread or here thumb.gif

Not true, i had vapor-x 7950 and it was 8 pin and 6pin. People are just getting lucky getting the x2 8pin. I returned mine because of coil whine issue that i was having, performance was great but those cards are voltage locked. I could not go beyond 1150mhz, now i dont know if the cards are changed to x2 8pin. But if it is i would love to get one for sure again, currently i am using sapphire 7950 OC Boost edition. I am at 1200mhz core and 1500 memory.

It says officially on Sapphires site that the 7950 Vapor-X Boost OC is 8+8 pin now. So are the 8+8 pin cards on 7970 PCB and unlocked?
I love the vapor-x cooler. my 7970 is 2x8 pin...anyway the OP is getting a beastly overclock!! good job! (also the voltages should be unlocked for both 7950 and 7970), TRIXX 4.4.0b (i think) is one prog you can use to adj voltages, or the newest MSI AB (after deleting some .oem file in the install directory)

If you are getting it from amazon, i really dont know what to tell you. They might not have new versions of the card.
