7950 Vapor X Voltage Locked? - Page 84

Even with 1.25 it will act up it jumps to a whopping 65 to 75 c on that overclock

Oh yea and that's in under a minute of gpu burn in

What are you guys using to monitor voltage?

I am seem to be able to adjust voltage with both AB and the newest Trixx. I just am not sure what is reading the voltage correctly. GPUz and AB seem to be in sync, but hwinfo never shows what I think is the correct amount (always low).

I seem to be stable at 1100/1500 with 1250mv on core and 1500mv for memory. Seems like my core voltage is high compared to others. When the card is idle voltage is VDDC is only at 0.805 in GPUz and AB.

Oh, and where can I check for BIOS updates? I didn't see them on the support page. This is from the Trixx report:
BIOS Version: 015.025.000.099.000000
BIOS Part Number: 113-210PAFR-V07

I am using the NON-OC BIOS.

You can mod AB to display real voltage so it's actually useful to you. Check my sig thread on AMD stuff. Bottom of post 1.

Ok, thanks. I did that. At idle it still looks to be the same as GPUz, but I'll run heaven and see if it make a difference.

I use msi afterburner might be why

Ok, maybe I didn't notice it before, but GPUz is also showing lower voltage under load. So AB and GPUz are the same. Under load it is dropping to about 1.19, but I have it set at 1.25 in AB. Setting force constant voltage doesn't fix it while under load either. So it just has some major vdroop. What is "stock" voltage supposed to be on these? I am amazed when I hear of people getting to 1100 on stock voltage.

You did the mod, correct? Then it is showing correct voltage. What you are seeing is voltage droop, voltage droop happens naturally on all chips.

Ya, I did the mod like you said. I know what vdroop is. If I set AB to 1.3v it reads between 1.23-1.24 during Heaven. Is that a normal amount of droop? Any fix for it?
