Also any planes/rockets you have made in the alpha/beta probably won't work anymore and if they do, they will probably be really unstable. I pretty much have to relearn the whole game now.

Ahh, yeah I vaguely remember that survey too, though I didn't see the results of it. I've never used FAR either, I just know from other people that it adds to the difficulty a lot.

The fact that the new aerodynamics means having to relearn a lot is actually quite appealing to me, I think I burned myself out on it back when I used to play. I can understand why suddenly upping the difficulty might annoy some people though.

My first attempt at making a jumbo jet and it's carrying 64 passengers and 4 pilots.

What could possibly go wrong?

As it turns out, nothing biggrin.gif

The new aerodynamics definitely make planes easier to build, but it also makes rockets more difficult. I've never succeeded in building spaceplanes before 1.0, but I've also never had numerous reiterations of rockets flip out (literally) or fall apart during climb, especially when beginning a gravity turn.

Either way I love it.

This docking was really difficult... I forgot to include prograde/retrograde RCS thrusters on this plane, and the station had no SAS module, so it rotated... constantly. In the end I fixed the plane in place and moved the station to it. tongue.gif

Mun landing (without cheats or mods) and a space station (made without cheats or mods)

The "power pack" for the space station has 152,000 electricity biggrin.gif

It was also the first time I have docked in this game, with well over 100 hours gameplay time.

spaceplane not as success as would have hope

I suck at making space planes that can go to space.

I tried to make a SSTO plane that takes off from the runway, and it gets to around 25,000m then stalls and falls back down.

I tried to make a space shuttle type plane that takes off from the launch pad, and it falls backwards because of the aerodynamics and where the thrust is compared to centre of mass.

I don't even think I've managed to make a decent sub-orbital plane before, nevermind spaceplane or SSTO. Every time I try it either ends up suspiciously like the default assemblies, or flies like a brick redface.gif

I'm not sure if you can count 25,000m as sub-orbital tongue.gif

The atmosphere goes up to 70,000m

I've built three SSTO planes since 1.0. One with a single rapier, one with two turbojets and a single LV-T45, and one with a single turbojet and two LV-909s. My old SSTOs don't work anymore, because you can't go as fast on just jet engines before switching over to rockets.
