High Idle temps Ref 7970 with GHZ Bios.

I got a new 1440p monitor a few days ago, and ever since I have been getting, what I would consider really high idle temps.

This is what I mean, and this is with a custom fan profile. Ambient temp of 25c.

Default fan profile:

Should I be concerned? I thought I had broken the fan motor after the recent BOINCers Gone Bonkers event, but it settled down to normal operations.

Your problem isn't as much the temps but the voltage and clocks which don't seem to drop to idle. Idle clocks for single monitor should be 300/150 and idle volts somewhere around 0.9V. If you haven't already, you should uninstall and re-install the drivers. Maybe try some other Catalyst version. The power state control seems to be too much for AMD driver team to handle right now, it's a total lottery if or when they work or not.
