[XSPC] New AX 120mm Series Radiators - Page 5

Me too. I think that is what is happening, I am questioning if I can be happy with the XSPC AX so that I can get these awesome looking rads just for looks!! They do look outstanding, and that removable core is a mod dream. Plus I'm no longer sure I want the SR1 rads anyway due to the one sided shroud design and lack of scalability. So I unloaded the SR1 rads for now.

I got some AX for a thin/limited space build because I still needed the max cooling I could get.

So I get my rads in and rolleyes.gif, these are assembled by not the sharpest eyed workers. The fitting adapters used two different sized o-rings. The cap is screwed on by 4 metal screws, and one is at a 45 angle because whomever screwed it in wasn't paying attention so it carved the hole bigger.

After inspection, I replaced the o-rings with BP silicon seals and fixed the screw issue. The rad does look like it means business and the shroud really looks nice in person.

Not trying to s steel this thread but if someone had enough space to place a single push pull 240 mm rad with an 80 mm thickness like the nexXxos monsta, or place 2 push pull 240mm rads with 40 mm thicknesses like the Ax. What is the best configuration when using Noctua pressure optimized fans?
First, you shouldn't bump news threads for questions about watercooling. You should make a post in the Watercooling section http://www.overclock.net/f/61/water-cooling

Second, Stacking rads is pointless. The second rad isn't helping if it can't get its own air. Most of the time you end of with a net negative by stacking the second rad, as the fans push less air due to restrictions.

I bought the AX360 a few weeks ago, and teamed it up with 6x Corsair SP120 (2350rpm) fans in push/pull, and WOW, this rad actually beats the RX360 i had prior!

Overclocked to 4.6ghz on a 3930k at 1.36vcore, and it doesn't even break 55c with ambiant temps of around 25-30c!

If anyone wants to get it, believe me you won't regret it! I personally had some skepticism leading up tot he purchuse, and i will say im up most pleased with it!

Here are some pictures for you guys smile.gif

(mind you the RX360 i had in my Switch 810, with a rampage iv extreme was a real ass to get in! Where i had to shave the fan shroud and though i got it to fit it looked crap!)

Here is a pic of my loop prior, then after..

Here are some pics, more to follow in the coming days.

[THE OLD LOOP]

[NEW BITS TO GO IN]

Motherboard Installed

Fans Installed On An XSPC AX360 Radiator!! Will run Push/Pull

Rad Installed, Added that bit of hosing first cause the angle was awkward! Bitspower fittings and rotary fittings!

Hopefully soon? tongue.gif I wouldn't mind sticking a 140mm in the top and do some modding to my case to fit it inside also at the front perhaps... Will be a difficult feat none the less lol!

But overall, I will say WOW about these rads! Even with the Corsair 2350rpm fans running at the full 12v they aren't that loud as some people claim. And i am quite fussy with that sort of thing, Though mine are only turned all the way up during long gaming sessions or rendering in 3Ds Max, or After effects.

Even with the fans running at lower voltages the temps are far superior to the RX360 imo! By at least 8-12c and that's no bull, im a real temp whore lol
