Flash Drive in laptop HDD enclosure: Too much heat to handle?

I have a usb drive that I am using as my HDD. I want to install it to my laptop's hard drive enclosure, will it run too hot there? Will I need some active cooling methods if it runs really hot?

I am concerned because my lappy's hdd compartment has some circuitry underneath the plastic cover under the invisible HDD. I wonder if it can run hot enough to perhaps melt the plastic, call me crazy I don't care.

Most HDDs run at a maximum of approximately 50C. If you have a flash drive made of plastic that melts at 50C, you should be careful in a hot day anyway.

Basic answer: It shouldn't be a problem.

I doubt that anything will happen. If you need to you can take the flash drive out of the plastic enclosure and it will be fine. I've boiled flash drive internals before and they're fine.
