Hybrid ATI/NVIDIA PhysX - Borderlands 2 - Page 2

Turns out I already had that done. So I don't have to (or I have to NOT) delete any of the physx*.* files in the game dir(steamapps/common/bl2/bin/w32)?

@u3b3rg33k, Install Nvidia Driver 285.62 + Physx 9.11.0621.
In the game dir steamapps/common/bl2/bin/w32, removes the 3 Cuda.dll and all the physx.dll but physxextension.dll, thats the only file must remain there.
Execute the MOD v1.05ff, http://www.ngohq.com/attachments/graphic-cards/3560d1319651839-hybrid-physx-mod-v1-03-v1-05ff-physx-mod-1.05ff.rar.
(if you want you can force it by executing the cmd files, MANUAL and GPU.
Execute the game and confirm if the physx is running on your GPU and not CPU with GPU-Z.

In any case if you got this error:
http://i49.tinypic.com/2rhuxwl.jpg

Install this second mod:
http://www.ngohq.com/attachments/graphic-cards/3854d1345205062-how-to-fix-hybrid-physx-with-latest-physx-and-geforce-285-solved-hybridiz.exe

And that must do it, that last file worked for me and physx are running High.

Any question, let me know.

I don't get that error, I get a driver out of date error (they're the ones recommended by 1.05ff).

EDIT: looks like I forgot to run the exe as admin...

Seems to be working now (when shooting snow, low shows just decals, med/hi shows snow clumps all over the place). my PCI GT430 seems to handle it just fine, right up until it VPU resets itself out of the game - pretty sure it's the card, not physx's fault. Currently running in CPU physx mode on low to check performance, then i'll try stepping it up to high and see how it goes. if it's not good enough i'll borrow a GTX 8800 ultra from a friend and try that.

EDIT 2: turns out cpu physx has a horrible penalty related to how far you can see - anything up close is fine, but if you can see flags waving in the distance, framerate tanks to unplayable levels - even though the cpu never exceeds 30% load (i7-940 @ 3.8, 12GB ram, 6970). with that off, performance is fine. Guess I gotta try a better physx gpu.

So I've had hybrid physx working before with other games so I know the routine. I followed this guide from scratch after cleaning out all nvidia drivers and physx. I have an HD 5970 and a GTS 450. GPU-Z shows physx enabled but 0% load in borderlands 2. If I delete all the physx.dll files except extensions.dll in the game dir I get an error that hardware physx was requested but the drivers are out of date. If I restore the .dll's then the game runs but no physx, 450 sits at 0%

I'm running 285.62 and 9.11.0261 as mentioned above.

Any advice what else to try?

Seems like the only physx.dll I can get away with deleting is the device one, any others game wont load

I turned physx down to medium, and I have yet to experience any further crashing issues - the game looks almost as good. Almost.

Trying to finish the game the first time before doing this.....as I don't want headaches associated with BL2.

I did finally get it working. There is a new app other then the hybrid crossfire mod you have to run once along with all the usual procedure and after that I got it to work.

Care to share what that app is?
