on first image use full resolution to see it if corrupted preview
not sure if it's high or low OC for card rather moderate just quick bump
generally i find it incosistient test it can differ by 20+ points between runs - might be boost or benchmark itself or
Didn't know screenshot shortcut so i can't prove it but first run resulted in 1208pts next runs had around 1175 also min frame rate changes alot.
OC ones are attached. Will tell check more later in the evening

Here is what some SLI 480's (this is roughly what a 680 would be like) with a slight OC, will do a better OC when I get appropriate cooling for them

Thread Starter
Well i was going to order everything today and hope it got here on Friday. But newegg can't seem to order enough cards to keep them in stock longer then a day lol. I guess i'll order everything this week end and hope it gets here Thursday. I'll be posting benchmarks and pictures of the boxing/build.

eltebe
Those are really good frames for it being stock. I seen a thread on oc 680's doing the 50-60 area as well.

My single 580 Lightning in my backup rig did 41FPS...
Alright stock results are in biggrin.gif

This is what the Lightning 7970 scores in 3DMark11 and Heaven 3.0 at bone stock[1070MHz core / 1400MHz memory]

3DMark 11 Performance Preset

Aesthetically, this card has no competition other than the Lightning 680. It is the nicest 7970 I have ever seen as I've owned two others; the Sapphire OC and the Gigabyte. Both of which cannot compete in this department I'm interested in seeing what the Vapor-X 7970 GHz Edition scores in both benchmarks at stock and so if someone would be kind enough biggrin.gif.

Card sagging is also absent thanks to the back plate and coil whine is also absent (Thank goodness).

Excuse my amateur photo taking skills and cable management tongue.gif This card is beauty and beast

I will overclock the card tomorrow and post up results asap.

Not putting the 7970 down, but my 480's still beat it.

here you are. Stock results are spread between 1175-1208 in 3 tests. Didnt capture those. Most likely boost causing it. Oc'ed are more consistent(lower one was with 1153 core).
Advice for vapor-x ghz buyers check if your sata ports are parallel to motherboard wink.gif. Card ends where my extreme6 does just little above sata ports.

I prefer single card setup - less noise less heat no problems with drivers, games(if you put AMD failing before 12.8 aside wink.gif)
