Yeah but multiple cards bring more problems. Also i think those 2 480's beat a 680 stock aswell.

GTX 480 is a good mid-range card and at one time was the best in its class. Stock for stock, it is faster than the GTX 560 Ti 384 / 448, GTX 570, and the Radeon HD 7850. Two 7850s in CFX is faster than a 7970 and so it doesn't surprise me that SLI 480s is also thumb.gif.

Here is what my $300 Gigabyte 7950 scores in Heaven 3.0

I've yet to see a 670 or 680 beat this. But I could be wrong...

Actually, SLI and CFX have gotten much much better, and I think that multiple gpus will become more the norm and less the exception in the very near future.
Yes the 480s do be a stock 680
Here are some scores for you of a stock and an overclocked 680 just so you can see where your other choice stood.

Those first three scores were with no AA. The last one at 53.3 fps was the only one comparable to the numbers posted here....

That is indeed faster than most 7970's by a couple of fps. Of course I get well over 100 fps on my sig rig (7970's can CF too)... wink.gif

I think most prefer EVGA, they have great customer service and you can even register for being able to have cross shipping for RMAs. Other than that, I'm jealous
