Recommend me upgrade

Thread Starter
I'm bored and want to change something in my PC smile.gif That is probably the easiest place for now.
You can check my system in signature.

PC usage
12am-8am sleep
8-8.30 checking emails/skype
8.30am-8pm sleep
8pm-12pm web browsing/ playing BF3 (1920x1200 high settings (~35 fps))

CPU now on stock to save energy during sleep mode. overclocking is fun, but don't see much use of it for now.
Not much budget maybe 150-200 for now.

Well, your motherboard does not support AM3+, so a CPU upgrade (eventually Piledriver when released) is out of the question, so, for the budget you presented, I'd suggest upgrading the RAM to 8 GB, in the eventual case you have only 4 GB (your sig doesn't say), and the GPU. A current generation GPU will perform much better with DX11 titles (especially the tessellation part), making BF3 run much better and at higher settings than the ones you have now.

Your budget is limited though, so I'd suggest selling the HD 5870 and depending on hpw muich you make with it, buying the HD 7870 with your budget and the money you make from the sale of the card, or even the HD 7950. Or just buy a Radeon HD 7850 with the budget and overclock it a bit. You'll do well to overclock the 1090T back to 4 Ghz to keep up with the GPU. The new GPU itself used less power both at idle and load compared to the HD 5870, so one thing makes up for the other.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

Upgrading the graphics card is the best thing you can do if you want more performance in BF3. A 7870 would be a really nice upgrade, I'm guessing "east coast" means U.S.A. so you're working in dollars; this would fit your budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102983R

Also, just shut down the PC when you're not using it, you'll save even more electricity that way.

Well gaming wise I don't really see a significant improvement anywhere aside from maybe a better graphics card. If you don't wanna go that track and you're just looking to satisfy the "itch" for new hardware, then I suggest trying out new mice/keyboards or maybe even try purchasing some fans for your case or maybe even lighting lol.

Newer graphics card, and you could overclock and still have power save features enabled, just turn them off, get your oc stable, turn them back on, do a bit more stress testing to make sure it's all good and voila you have a power friendly overclock smile.gif
