Opinions please, the best AM3 cpu for GA990XA-UD3 motherboard

Hi everyone, i just wanted your opinions on the best cpu for my m/board to match with my 8.gig 1600mhz corsair vengence ram, my cpu will be water cooled as is my 1055T at the moment..

I already have a phenom II X 3 720BE core 4 unlocked @ 3.4ghz and a 1055T running @ 3.6ghz in it at the moment.

I don't know exactly what you need or what are the conditions, but I do know that the 1055T (E0 rev) works great with this board and will provide much higher headroom than the 720 BE (C2 rev) in all situations, the result of the newer revision and higher overclocking ability.

Thanks, i have the OC'd 1055T in the board at the moment, the pc is mainly used for gaming from disc and online as well as multi media graphics and conversion, and want the best overclock cpu for this board at under 100 british pounds without having to buy an intel setup.

I know my graphics card is not up to the system standard but that is the next thing on the agenda to go up from a ddr2 9500GT SLi to a ddr3 630GT

I just wanted some real reviews and opinions, as i am fed up reading lots of reviews that all pick different cpu's.

I have just been looking at that cpu in the reviews, great overclocker but mixed results, all the reviews like the cpu but all expected a lot more from it, i may just wait with what i have for another 6 months and see if they bring out a revised version. It is also the price issue in the UK market of that cpu.

The 1055T is not the bottleneck in your system. Worry about graphics first.

Yes i know the card its self is fantastic on it's own or sli'd on an am2 system, my next purchase before anything else will be a 2gb 630GT or two 610's, i had wondered if ddr2 card was causing the unstable OC's in some way.

with the cpu's and settings you are using it would be hard to justify a new cpu at this time

the 1090T and the 1100T are better but they will cost you a lot at this time

amd will probably release more of the 1090T and the 1100T after the piledrivers have been released

I have also just been reading pre reviews of the new Steamroller with apparently 30% improvement over piledriver to re[place it. i did manage to stabilize my system at 3.85ghz but took it back to 3.6 for lifespan reasons and every day use, i now run two bios profiles, one for each with max load temps of 42*C @ 3.85

I am looking forward to an improved graphics system as i run a 22" hdmi tv as my monitor and i can wait 6/9.mths with what i have to see how the piledriver and steamroller reviews really turn out.
