[Build Log] "Not Quite White" - Watercooled Prodigy - 3570k - GTX 670 - Page 2

UPDATE: Sorry about the lack of update. I intended to sleeve the old fashion way (with heatshrink) but my Lutro0 sleeving tool got lost in the mail somehow. He's rushing shipping me another, but I eventually gave in this afternoon and decided to just go with heatshrinkless sleeving.

The double wires are going to be a royal pain-in-the-rear to figure out, but I may as well show what I managed to get down in a few hours tonight. My first sleeving ever:

Hopefully I can figure out the wiring and get this 24-pin done soon.

In other news, I may have actually sold my computer (and decided not to buy a new camera, since the shots are coming out pretty well), which means more parts! biggrin.gif

subbed. nice build man! thumb.gif good pics and nice choice of hardware.

stupid question for you: are all the pins on the PSU cables female? I'm thinking about picking up the same PSU to use it in my build (here, if you're interested wink.gif ). I'd be cutting down my cables before sleeving and want to pick up some extra hardware from MDPC in case any of the factory pins get mangled during disassembly. Thx for any advice you have sleeving that sweet, sweet PSU. smile.gif

Thanks biggrin.gif

I'm not honestly sure what you mean by "female" pins on the PSU cables, but here's a picture of what every cable (at least on the main 24-pin set) looks like on each end:

Small Update:

Still chugging along on the 24-pin. I figured I'd post more pictures to keep people interested.

And for those if you wondering, here's a picture of my super-high-end photo-equipment (I'm using an ancient Sony DSCF707 that I got from a family member):

please upgrade your video card to a EVGA 670 FTW edition. Every now and then they'll actually have it on sale for the same price as a reference card. You just overclock these cards like the old GPUs, so rather than risk it, get a card that's cherry picked and factory OC'd, then see if you can push it further

thanks, that helps. those look like female ends to me. Basically I'm trying to decide if I should be these or these.

Thanks for the advice redface.gif

To be honest, as far as the graphics card is concerned, it's whatever I can get for the money when all is said and done. I'll probably buy used from someone on OCN anyway.
