For Sale:
Emotiva UPA-500 5-channel amplifier - $300 shipped

Will Ship To: US48

After a recent move I have decided to reduce some clutter and sell most of my Emotiva gear - much of it basically unused. There is enough gear here to put together a pretty decent 7 channel system (minus the cables, of course).

To get a few things covered upfront, unless you happen to be local I accept PayPal only - and you must be listed as "verified"/"confirmed" in their database. If you're local we can, of course, just go with cash. All prices include shipping and I will, as per PayPal's policies, cover their fees myself.

If you are interested in anything please shoot me a message via the TT boards or email me at [insert my TT handle]@gmail.com. If you have questions I encourage you to post them in this thread as others may benefit from the response.

Lastly - I apologize for the picture quality. Since my last 'real' camera died I am left with a pretty mediocre cameraphone. If you would like a better picture of something specific I will do my best to make it happen...but I can make no promises that it would be detailed enough to show you much.

SOLD - Emotiva UMC-1 Processor - SOLD

Original Owner: Yes
Warranty Expires: May 2015

Summary: I purchased this back when it first came out and was on backorder. Unlike some people I never had any issues with it whatsoever, it has always been great to me and done everything I asked of it. One minor issue that would crop up every now and then would be it wouldn't shut off completely on occasion - the screen would shut off but all other lights (and connected amplifiers) would remain on. Turning it back off and on would remedy this issue. It never bothered me so I didn't ask Emotiva about it. However, I did (finally) just update to the latest firmware last night so that may fix the problem. It was quite easy to do once I found room on my desk (see picture above). I see people are regularly buying these new for around $450-500 only for the upgrade card, then turning around to sell afterwards. I think even for the full price I paid a couple years back that it was a bargain and it is even more so today. I will, of course, be keeping my upgrade card. I have the original box and shipping box, and it will come with a trigger cable, manual, original plastic remote, big manly aluminum remote, various unused antennae, extra fuses, and a power cable.

Asking Price: $350 shipped (SOLD)

Emotiva UPA-500 5-Channel Amplifier

Original Owner: Yes
Warranty Expires: May 2017

IMG_20120910_150951.jpg

Summary: This amp is brand-new and was turned on for the first time just last night to ensure functionality - the screen protector is still on the front. Not a whole lot to say about this one, I had some ideas about using it for a 5-channel system with the UMC-1 for a computer setup but have decided that is a 'bit' larger than I need at this time. Seeing as how Emotiva regularly has 10% off deals I have priced this a hair lower than their since I did remove it from the box...if only once. I have the original box and shipping box, and the amp will come with the manual, power cable, extra fuses, and trigger cable.

Asking Price: $300 shipped

SOLD - Emotiva UPA-1 Monoblock Amplifier (#1) - SOLD

Original Owner: Yes
Warranty Expires: March 2017

It's the one on the right.

Summary: So before I purchased the UPA-500 I had intended on using a DAC with a pair of these amps for the same computer (see below for the other amp). Obviously that didn't work out either. This amp has been powered on maybe half a dozen times in all. I almost decided to keep this pair and sell my XPA-2 as they were equally nice, but I decided that I enjoy busting my back every time I move my stereo so the XPA had to remain. I have the original box and shipping box, and the unit will come with the manual, power cable, and trigger cable. I would VERY MUCH prefer to sell both UPA-1's as a pair, but that doesn't mean I have to. This is for all intents and purposes a brand-new unit and the price reflects that.

Asking Price: $320 shipped (SOLD)

SOLD - Emotiva UPA-1 Monoblock Amplifier (#2) - SOLD

Original Owner: No
Purchased Via: Audiogon
Warranty Expires: August 2016

It's the one on the left.

Preface: Before reading the below, rest assured this amplifier is in perfect working order and is nearly flawless (now). Operationally, it IS flawless. There are very, very minor marks in the paint on the back edge, and that's about the only negative I can say about it.

Summary: Before purchased a the new amp above I looked for used ones on Audiogon - after my experience with this I elected to buy the other one new. This one was $275 plus shipping (plus MORE shipping...we'll get to that) when I grabbed it earlier this year. It is about a year old as can be determined from the warranty expiration date. I find it fortunate that Emotiva has only been good to me, because I needed their help once it arrived at my door. The individual I purchased the unit from had apparently not maintained the original shipping box, though he did keep the interior box, which is all that it was shipped in. Upon arrival the box itself was pretty rough and I feared the worst - fortunately the amplifier itself arrived with no issues. About a minute later I discovered that an RCA jack was very, very loose (reminiscent of a loose jack on my XPA-2). I had been planning on using the balanced inputs anyway but decided that it would bother me if it wasn't fixed. I ordered a shipping box from Emotiva so I could send it back safely. While I was waiting for it to arrive I checked out the amplifier a little more closely and found that through the top of the grill I could see at least three capacitors were nearly bursting at the top with brownish residue collecting. I was glad I decided to ship it back and Emotiva took care of both things, plus throwing in a trigger cable for free since one didn't come with the amp in the first place. I have a card that explains the work that was done on the amplifier that will be included. It works perfectly fine and frankly I would be unable to distinguish between the two UPA-1's if it wasn't for the serial numbers. In any case, since this amp has something of a history (despite it's perfect condition) I have marked it down. You will get the power cable and trigger cable with this (no manual) along with the repair card I received after I RMA'd it.

I should note that the shipping box Emotiva supplied is a tad oversized - no idea what they were thinking on that one but it's definitely better than shipping the amplifier box by itself. I will pack it with some bubble wrap to make up the slight difference.

Asking Price: $250 shipped (SOLD)

So there you have it. I'll be leaving everything unboxed just in case some questions come up, but otherwise everything is ready to go!

Certainly doesn't get any better than this for anywhere near the price.

Processor has sold and shipped but the amps (which honestly I thought would go first) are still available.
