Incorrect.

Regardless, depending on when this comes out, I may buy this just because so many people are against it biggrin.gif It does look fun, but I'm not even close to being ready to pre-order. I'll be waiting for others to try it out first.

But i must have been in development long before dayZ was released. Otherwise they are either the fastest programmers/art designers ever or that rumor about them stealing DayZ/arma 2 assets is true.

They did use assets from the previous game they worked on which was war inc. (dont know where you got this stealing assets from arma 2). On the forums what i read is that they were actually working on a zombie type game for the ps3 then switched over to pc and then saw the success of day z and decided they were going to go the way they are now.

For a game based on immersion and survival having "Gold" and "Dollars" as currency is stupid.

It should be bottle caps / shell casings / ammo / "Barter items" - as the in game currency. Then " Cash " for store bought items.

Gold... WHY?!?!

I spend money on all sorts of silly entertainment. Like $12 popcorn at the movies... in the end it is entertainment. You don't need to spend money but if you want to you can.
Like I don't need to buy popcorn to see my movie at the theatre, if I wanted to I could scavenge it off the floor... but the ease of buying it before hand makes for a better watching experience.

I really don't know what to think about the whole DayZ rip-off debate. But regardless, that won't stop me from giving it a try if it's a good game. I honestly don't care for these microtransactions, regardless of the type of items available for purchase, because no matter what way you look at it, people willing to dump more and more money into the game will always have an advantage. If you get into a shootout with someone, obviously the guy with 20 bandages and a bunch of painkillers who spent 10 bucks will have the advantage. But having options is the beauty of being a consumer, so I'll give this a go as well as remain an avid DayZ player thumb.gif

You asked for it...

http://www.overclock.net/t/1293006/did-the-war-z-ripoff-dayz-discussion-inside

Also, the original statement was "I heard that this game was announced before Day Z." Keyword being, 'announced.'
