It would work, but it's a poor solution for a problem that does not yet exist... you haven't already bought the PSU, so why not buy one with sufficient connectors in the first place?

I'd say the xfx core 650 will be another good option with 4 pci cables

nope the 650 is pretty much sub par and the tauro and tr2 700 scrapes decent

I think I have it narrowed down slightly between the ones mentioned below. The TR2 takes the cake for me atm. as it is slightly cheaper than the other PSU´s and is 700W. But what would you guys recommend me to select here? Trying to get the most bang for the buck and at the end of the day I need to ensure I get the best I can for a reasonable price.

  • XFX PRO 650W
  • Thermaltake TR2 700W
  • Xigmatek Centauro 700W

the tr2 and xfx actually have similar 12v outputs so those 2 are the same the xigmatek is okish but that said the xfx is a seasonic rebrand and is the same unit as the corsair tx650v2
