So iVe come up with the bright idea of reviving my lenovo laptop by purchasing a Samsung *30 128GB SSD. I also purchased an Ultrabay Caddy for my currently Installed 500GB WD Blue drive. which will take my cd rom location.
The Samsung came with Ghost..I tried using it with the usb dongle they supplied it went for a few min and failed said it couldn't write to the destination. Don't think the drive has an issue as right after i just did a fresh windows 7 install with no issues.
Obviously the ssd is smaller than the WD blue. I have a 110gb Win 7 partition and a 40 Gb windows xp partition. I guess ive never cloned a dual boot machine idk if there is a difference.
I would rather not re install both windows XP and windows7 There's just alot of programs to install on both and configuring everything stinks. I use the machine primarily for work dual boot so i can really handle anything thrown my way. Its just a tn of extra work.
I have a plan I just don't know how to execute it or if it is right.
1st I think i need to re size the current partitions on my WD Blue so both will fit on the SSD
next i think i just need to clone it..
I imagined or thought in the past I booted up on a ghost cd or something and everything is there easy breezy select 2 partitions select destination and whamo... Maybe set new partition sizes in there somewhere Idk. I think im just a lil too outta touch as i haven't been messing with hardware much lately. Im sure this is covered somewhere however i couldn't find anything
