Anyone tried Epic T1000/Indigo xtreme on LGA2011?

Thread Starter
I am wondering if anyone had tried using indigo Xtreme on a 3930k or 3960x and if so how did you go about the reflow process? From everything i have read about it the reflow process requires you to keep the CPU at a minimum of 90C for an extended period. Since the Tmax for both the 3930k and 3960x is only 70C and intel CORE processors are no stranger to heat and voltage induced core degradation I am a little worried about trying this. Thanks in advance.

I have the indigo Xtreme for the 3930k [Did a quick Tweak to take it up to 4.2 instead of letting it do its own stuff], and it's great. It gave me a few hiccups at the start since I couldn't figure out what the issue was. Turned out I needed to turn off my pumps is all to make the stuff melt. No fans and i'm running 32c @ 4.2 atm since I haven't bothered getting into the OC yet. I'm going to see just how far I can run it up.

Here's what you have to do to get reflow (It doesn't take long, and your comp is very safe.)

1) Turn off ALL case fans.
2) If you have watercooling, turn your pumps off
3) Turn your computer so your MOBO is HORIZONTAL [KEY POINT!]
4) Make sure your heatsink is on tightly [Just install it like normal. Keep switching corners after like 1/2 to 1 turn to keep constant pressure. I went 1/2 turn on 2 corners [Top left, bottom right] then over to the other corners [Top right, Bottom left] Repeated until it was all the right torque.]
5)Turn your computer on
6) Run a torture test I saw 88 to 90C for about 20 seconds, then it backed off to 60 or so. I turned off the torture, and switched my cooling on, all the way to 32 it went.

Don't worry dude, 90C is no problem for 30 odd seconds. In fact, my 3930k ran at 90C for like 10 minutes since I was trying to achieve reflow. I missed the fact that i had to turn my computer on the side + turn off my res xD

TBH I plan on using the indigo from now on, simply for the fact that it's so easy to apply, not to mention the fact that it blasts everything else out of the water.
