I think the processing power of a phone is a few years off from this going mainstream, but I really like the idea. An ubuntu based phone that docks into a laptop would probably be my first choice of mobile devices if I was forced to stop using OS X or iOS. Ubuntu is already very OS X like visually (Well, the Gnome version anyway), it's Linux based, and syncing is a non issue if there are no separate devices to sync.
I think Windows 8 is going to open a window for a new competitor to come into the laptop/desktop OS market. If NexPhone can beef up Ubuntu in the user friendly ease-of-use department, now is the time to get in the game.
I'm still crossing my fingers for an Android based desktop OS though.
