looks like haswell will be a disappointment, it will be equal to ivy bridge if not just alil better ( i say no more than 3-5 percent better ) than ivy bridge mad.gif and no 8 real cores mad.gif

Honestly, hardware is getting to the point where advancements won't be impressive anymore. Be lucky we are getting that, I see hardware progression going to a halt in many areas in the next 5 years unless they make some breakthroughs (completely changing the way things work). I believe software optimization will start playing a very important part in the next decade. Everything has been badly optimized lately because the hardware can brute force it's way through it.

The good news is, our top of the line computers will last 4-5 years, instead of 1-2 years. tongue.gif

im sorry but i dont think anyone really cares about 7 watts the OC better be a monster or this chip will fail just like ivy

This man has COMMON SENSE :O

That's why I made the upgrade to Ivy now. Nothing is going to improve in the next 5 years in terms of performance.

Energy wise, you should see 50W Quad Core chips soon enough

My point wasn't about watt usage. I was pointing out that according to his quote, Haswell will be just as or maybe a little bit faster than Ivy and use just a little less power than Ivy. Like you said, OC'ing better be very good on this chip, otherwise many wouldn't see any real reason to "side-grade" to it.
