Any thoughts on This rosewill? I can get it for 55$ with the current promo code.

Also, in regards to the last question in the original post, what would be the best order in which to order things?

Edit-

Also, I realize I'm wrong already as far as the public opinion in comparison to the FX series- but I have to ask - Is buying a phenom ii considered buying "old tech"?

I like that PSU. People are posting good comments on it.

As what to buy first........ look to see whats left in stock. If your going for a older CPU. I'd suggest that first then the motherboard. Depending on the graphics card id get that next. Ram would be the last thing since its the easiest to get. As for the others thats up to you when to get it. As tech evolves the prices go down when the new stuff comes out. Keep that in mind when buying it.

2 nice intel builds:

Just 545$ after rebate's

More graphical power and a little bigger PSU for just 629$ after rebate's

You can lock the I5-2400 at 3,6ghz with the stock cooler easely.

Since others showed you builds over 500$ and 600$ i thought i show you its possible to get a good intel system for that aswell.

I'm mainly keeping that in mind, as well as the trinity A10's coming out by next month.

But I meant the order in which to order things based on the possibility of DOA parts and the 30 day return window closing on me on parts I can't readily test now.

I should also note, this system would be kept stock, my girlfriend hates how my OCed system takes massive cooling and is somewhat unstable when I tinker with it.

That's why I like the D14 from Noctua. Its super quiet. Ive got mine up to 4.0 from 3.3 and it runs at 20 to 25 at idle. i dont hear it spin up till 35 plus.

+1 this definitely. the 965 is older but i hear it is better in single threaded performance and about the same if not better in multi threaded performance
