Should I step up?

Thread Starter
I just reached zero on the evga step up. I have 2 gtx 580 classy ultra's and Im not sure if its worth it stepping up to the vanilla 680's. I went into step up at different times for both cards so I dont have down time. So... How are the 680's in sli? I don't care about max fps I just want smooth gameplay with no low min fps. I benchmark but would rather have good gameplay than a few extra points in 3dmark.

I would. SLI technology has done nothing but improve with the 600 series. And 2 680s beat 2 580s pretty convincingly in games.

I havn't had any problems with sli on my 580's Im worried about low min fps because I've seen others in sli get way lower than my 580's but get a little higher max.

Ok im still undecided if I should pay $8 and put this card back in the box and send it off for a 680. Anyone else switch from 580 classified ultra's to vanilla 680's?

Canceled the step up no one could talk me into it. I love the classy's and care about minimum fps which I saw some having problems with 680's.

minimum fps are better on kepler than fermi. the 680 are much better cards than the 580s. the only reason to stay with 580s is for folding at home. but for gaming. i wouldnt even think about it.

You would be nuts not to. You will regret not doing it if you can so without cost.
