MSI GTX 580 Twin Frozr II - Not responding (error)

My system is constaintly giving me the error "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" It first started to happen rarely when gaming but it's now started to do it alot on a hourly basis (or more when i attempt to play games) textures in game start to disapear and the game eventually is forced to minimize then this error pops up.

Here are my specs:

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core I5 2500K
GPU: MSI GTX 580 Twin Frozr II 1500mb, Driver version: 266.58
RAM: 8gb
PSU: Antec truepower 650

I've attempted to unistall old drivers and install the new up to date drivers, I've never clocked or tinkered with the card in any way. I've also only owned it for about 15 months.

I actually have no idea what the cause is or how to solve it.. Ideas?

Ontop of this, I've just tried to watch a movie on the computer I have MSI afterburner up on the desktop looking at it while watching within 3 mins of the movie i had the error 3 times and the GPU usage had jumped from 1-2% to 100% and back down each time i got the error.

If you've updated drivers, you probably shouldn't say the driver version is 266.58 as it's gone so many driver families further.

You may need to RMA the card if you can't pinpoint the issue as software/driver related.

Actually thats my fault, i took that error from somone elses post because im never quick enough to write down the driver version down that pops up.. I do know its in the 300's my bad for that and thanks for the reply.

Would the card go back to where i bought it from or MSI/Nvidia?
