Whats the different between Intel and AMD processor ?
Some said that AMD processor performace lesser than Intel "The FX series are slow per clock, meaning that a FX 3Ghz CPU may give the same performance of a Phenom II 2.7Ghz CPU. Right now, per clock, Intel's CPU are about 50% better be clock, meaning an Intel SB CPU at 1Ghz is about what a Phenom II CPU is @ 1.5Ghz. "(took from http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/325208-28-phenom-1055t-6100-core-processor)
Is it a truth ?

its quite true, they didnt call the latest FX chips faildozer for nothing

intel offers higher overclocks and a better temperature range.

Why do people aways said that. AMD say they was going after multi-threading apps and they killed Intel in multi-threading apps.

Depends on what you're looking for, if you're looking gaming, Intel is hands down superior pretty much.

Generally good reference, I take the price bracket recommendations with a grain of salt since I use slickdeals + MicroCenter to get my computer parts.

That's not exactly true, but at this current moment Intel CPU's are faster. Intel's current generation (Ivy Bridge) standard 4 Core CPU's (Core i5's) are faster than AMD's current 8 Core processors (FX-8xxx) in every aspect except with thread-intensive tasks like video encoding. Intels Quad Core's with Hyperthreading (Core i7) tend to beat the FX-8xxx's on every field. This could change when AMD releases there second FX 8 core processors this month/next month. I doubt that AMD's next FX 8 Core processors will outperform the Ivy Bridge i5's and Sandy Bridge i7's but only time will tell. Another thing to note is that AMD's current top-end 8 core processor (3.1GHZ) is sold for $180 while Intels Core i5's start at $200 and Core i7's range from $300 to $600.

It may be important to note that Intel CPU's are ahead in technology at the moment. Ivy Bridge chips are 22nm rather than 32nm, meaning their build on a smaller chip and use less voltage. Ivy bridge also has a 16 PCI-E 3.0 lanes, AMD does not plan to offer PCI-E 3.0 with their second generation FX CPU's

Any AMD processor can beats i7 ivy bridge ?
Is it 17-3770k is the best for now ?
AMD second FX8 will possible beats 3770k?

Intel basically offers better options at the moment. A Core i7 3770K will stomp on any AMD desktop processor on the market. It's possible that AMD's second generation FX processors could be better than a 3770K BUT extremely unlikely. From the benchmarks it is looking like the top end FX 8 Core processor will compete with Intels Core i7 2500K - Intel's last generation Core i7 processors (Sandy Bridge) and that may not even be true.

I thought I'd contribute a little on this thread in terms of overclocking. I've recently (6 weeks ago) built an I7-3770K system for someone, and slightly overclocked it to 4.2ghz with SpeedStep off, ran some benchmarks and also ran the same benchmarks on my 1st generation I7-950 @ 4.1 ghz, and the new ivy bridge was only 5% - 7% faster in most tests. Some math tests it was +10% faster. The only real difference is to get my old i7 stable at 4.1ghz it pulls a lot of power (300 watts idle with 4 SATA drives, 360 with cpu loaded 100%) Where as my friend's new I7 ivy bridge system @ 4.2ghz with cpu loaded to 100% was using only 115 watts, and 80 watts idle, with 1 x SATA hard drive.

So the new i7's are a significant power drop, but don't seem to be significantly cooler, some though. My older i7 runs around 88c - 90c loaded to 100%, new ivy bridge on aftermarket cooler (some cooler master thing he wanted for his system) ran around 75c - 80c loaded. One of these days I'll take my old i7 system totally apart and lap the CPU.... dunno when I'll ever get around to that though, bought the sand paper, just dun wanna do the work yet.

Necro post aside, the ivy bridge can overclock way higher than a first gen i7. 4.2 ghz to 4.2ghz isn't really apples to apples. 4.2 ghz on an i7 960 or something along those lines is about 4.8-4.9 ghz on a 3770k (as far as Mac overclock potential goes)
