Perhaps you could elaborate why you have a hard time reading the text. Is it blurry? If so turning off the TV's over-scanning might help. Is the text to small? Increase windows display DPI scaling.

I too have my PC connected to a plasma tv. What you probably need to do is adjust DPI scaling to make the text larger. This option is found under Screen Resolution settings in Win7. Just as a heads up, not every application will scale as well as windows itself. Off the top of my head, I don't think Steam scales at all, and the nvidia control panel does, but does so poorly and somethings end up getting cut off.
As far as web browsing and reading text, download NoSquint, it's an add on for firefox that makes zooming web pages fairly easy.

I had the same problem.... to fix it you go into the tv menu and if ,for example you are using hdmi 1 to connect to your pc you set the name of hdmi 1 to pc and then the blurriness should be resolved. dont know why its like that but that is how i fixed my problem.

I'm guessing your problem there would be 1080p or 720p on a 51 inch screen.

most likely like other have said, you need to go into and adjust the scaling so that things arent so small and hard to read. And yes, not all apps are going to work well with scaling. if you do use steam there is a hack to change the font size so chats are readable. The issue is that everytime steam updates you need to reapply the changes in the ini files.

Yeah, lol. I was tired, and wasn't thinking. I just decided to use the 25" as a main and drag stuff to the 51"
