Rev. H = AMD quad cores

There are only 2 options worth going with and I'll stat them below....

- You can go C2D and get the best available today

- You can go AM2 and get yourself a midrange rig for today and get quad cores or dual cores with L3 cache for tomorrow

The AMD 65nm chips come out next month. If you buy one of those, you can upgrade it later with a better cpu (Q2 2007).

Even a mildly OCed C2D bottlenecks the g80 cards... what makes you think K8 will produce different (better?) results?

It's an aging arch, it'll do you fine for solitaire or whatever you're using but for gaming, it won't last past this summer

FX-62 doesn't overclock too well from what I've heard. Get an opteron 165 as they are exceedingly cheap right now.

And as boredom said, an X6800 bottlenecks a 8800GTX sli set up. BUT, if you aren't going to spend that much on gpus anyway, it shouldn't matter.

The x6800 bottlenecks single cards as well

who cares about bottlenecking? we're talking about computers that last. right now i can still play the majority of games on a 9800 pro w/ an xp 3000+. being futureproof isn't about bottlenecking and having the best of everything you know..........

Everybody cares about bottlenecking, you might not, the majority here do

Go play Oblivion with your set-up then come back and tell me how much fun you had at 3FPS, okay?
