Go play Oblivion with your set-up then come back and tell me how much fun you had at 3FPS, okay?

and why are you trying to flex your e-peen? you don't even have dual core.............

just saying that you don't have to go spend a grand on a video card, a grand on a processor and 500 bucks on a motherboard and memory to have a decent rig that will last well into the future....

I'm upgrading this rig at the end of the month, thank you

You don't need $1000 CPU, a $183 CPU (E6300) would be enough

You don't need a $1000 GPU, a $449 GPU (8800GTS) would be enough

You don't need a $500 mobo, a $147 (DS3) would be enough

I only said K8 won't take him into the next year as the arch. is now old and inferior (see bottleneck example above), this time next year everyone would have moved onto K8L and C2D putting the lowly K8 into the same position the P4 is now, a paperweight

Alright guyz Im trying to build a comp that will run UT2007 at its most perfect state. No matter how big the map, no matter how many players. I want it to run like a dream np's ever!!

I want it to run any games that are coming out during that time period as well.

So if I could get some info on a definite way to go I would be appreciative

Budget ha, actually if you read the post you would see budget is not an issue in any way shape or form

But do keep in mind Im not trying to waste money. If I have the strongest processor and no applications that can take advantage of it... whats the point.

As I said above I want to run the strongest games out there, w/o lagg from my side. Server side might be a different story, but not an issue.

UT2007 is the goal. And I imagine that it will be the strongest application to test a computers full intesity.

I need about a budget, I'm pretty sure I can come up with a rig costing you 6k but I doubt you would want that.

Just give me a ballpark and what you plan on using it for

Budget not an issue, you really should go Intel. a Kentsfield and 8800GTX SLi are THE best things out there.

I was thinking about a 5k rig or what I was expecting

But is not a westfield raptor the best HDD to setup up for RAID 0?
