Didn't think I should make a new thread for it.

The 670's should be more than 15k.

You have a 6 core, that would bump the overall score up a bit (Physics)

5850 has practically always been slow, my 5770 used to outclock and outperform my friend's 5850. im betting your 3650 was a hardware issue and had nothing to do with drivers. and if a mobility radeon causes a system crash(none of mine ever have) then you need to RMA your laptop to the manufacturer because its a lemon

I don't understand the 'wow' factor.

Both teams in the past have done the same thing AMD is doing this go-around.

This is how it always works.

After a bit of time, prices drop..... no matter who's first to do it...

I think you're sadly misinformed. A nicely juiced and clocked 5850 beat out stock 5870's consistently. The 5770's hard a hard time (even overclocked) beating out GTX260's.

I'm glad I waited.. I was ready to pull the trigger on a 7950 Sapphire Vapor-X for $330, if it shows up on newegg for $300 money is going to leave my wallet so fast there might be a sonic boom.

Except AMD drivers are terrible. I'll never buy AMD again. Or at least until I see their driver package improve.

The 5850 was a good crack at Midrange for AMD, if only it wasn't stuck in the GTX460's shadow.

Dunno about you, but I didn't see much about the 5850 overclocking potential. Very few 5850's in the day could break 900mhz, and by the time you had the GTX460 at 850mhz+ the pricier 5850 was made redundant as the 460 caught up and in some games bet it.

You do realize that a 5850 had nearly double the shaders that a 5770 does, right? rolleyes.gif

Also, my 5870 has never been "slow" by any means, even today.

On-topic, I was thinking about going nvidia for my next rig update, but I think AMD has just convinced me otherwise. If these prices remain true, I will be going AMD yet again. thumb.gif

Both drivers are hit and miss, I dunno how long I spent on 266.58 because I would get artifacts in BC2, and I ended up using 301's which worked.

On AMD, 12.4 was okayish could use CCC, 12.6 was just utter crap, CCC didn't work, CF was disabled and now that 12.8's out. I get a good FPS gain over 12.4 and CCC still won't open but CF is auto detected.

Really depends on what cards you have and how many you have in CF/SLI.
