Nice, so in about 8-10 hours?

Yeah hopefully ^_^

Should be at 1AM for us in the MST states.

Speaking of which, you live in the same city as I do. tongue.gif

But I'll have to watch it tomorrow, I work too early to be up at 1am.

There's going to be another press conference at 8am for us if that one's better. For once, my midnight shift out at UPS is going to be beneficial for once. I'll be able to read up on it as it unfolds ^_^.

And yeah haha, if you work at illfonic or netdevil you may have even met me, as i've visited both places when I was studying game software dev at Westwood. I've since moved to the Cisco program as coding just wasn't for me.

What are Wii VC and WiiWare games? Does this mean it is backward compatible with Wii games? Or that something else?

I can't believe they are reserving 1GB of memory to run the "OS"...which I am sure isn't much more than firmware. I mean Windows 7 bloated all to hell only uses about 750MB or so. I wonder if you can run other software on it while running the game. Maybe something like Skype while you are playing and such? Then the extra memory might get filled up if there was a few other actual applications running.

Makes me even more excited to see the next Xbox and Playstation. It will be funny that the best running and looking PC games are probably going to be Nintendo ports for a while...though we will see if they release any PC versions of anything worth while.

Wii VC and WiiWare games is stuff downloaded from the wii shop. VC means Virtual Console, which holds all that fun stuff like SNES, NES, Genesis, etc etc games. For the most part, there were only a small handfull of wiiware games that were worth while.

And yes, it looks like the wiiu will be running stuff in the background. Stuff like the os it self, the web browser, that whole social network thing, probably stuff for the tablet controller, maybe even background downloads and voice chat. Multi-tasking is what I'm trying to say.
