I'm telling you buddy, 120mm Shuriken with a low decibel high CFM fan is a great option for an HTPC.

Actually been looking into this combination

Im thinking Scythe Big Shuriken (not the big 2) and Xigmatek 140mm XAF

Will the Xigmatek 140mm XAF fit ok? If not the AeroCool Shark 120mm looks good or a cooler master sickleflow...

What about the truespirit 140 though it might get in the way of your ram if your use P/P (not sure how tall buy its probably already taller then 130 since the fan alone is 140 mm LOL)
the TRUE spirit is designed to avoid tall ram anyway. pretty sure TRUE 120, 140, Archon, and MUX-120 are all designed with tall ram considered so you should technically have no problem.

also cooler master is coming out with a new heatsink to replace the 212+ called the Hyper T4 if you can wait till the end of the month it might be worth looking into

I'll definitely vouch for the Hyper 212 Evo. My i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz stays steadily under 65 when I'm stress testing with prime 95, and it stays nice and cool while gaming and doing everything I need too with my PC. So far I am incredibly impressed with the cooler, especially for the amazing price point.

EDIT: Just a note - my Hyper 212 Evo is running in push/pull config and has a Scythe Ultra Kaze as exhaust. Though this probably makes quite a small difference it still does help a bit.

The Hyper 212 evo is 159mm so too big

I got a Sycthe Big Shuriken on the way as I got it cheap so going to see how that does but I'm not sure if my memory will fit can anyone help with that?

You guys need to read the OP before posting.

As for you, I think you're out of luck. Here is the cooler with low profile memory. Look how close it is. The first stick is fine, but the other one barely makes it

Well you definitely can't put it or remove memory while the cooler is installed. As far as memory goes, what type of memory do you have? It is designed to fit over regular sticks but will not fit over tall heatsinks on memory. I had this Samsung extreme low profile ram that doesn't even stick up past the mounting clips

Here is a picture, yes it is less tall than a dime is wide!

If anyone recommended the Hyper 212 EVO, I would like to override your recommendation with mine. The Enermax ETS T-40 T.B. Silence costs less and soundly (literally, soundly - it's quieter) outperforms the 212 EVO in performance tests. Get this cooler instead.

That exceeds 130mm
