I've been monitoring their massdrops and it seems as if they will be possibly doing a group buy of the Ducky Shine II and Ducky wants an interest check before they are willing to shell out. I am linking this here as to give any potential buyers a chance to get a cheaper price. Make sure you sign the petition if you're interested thumb.gif

I seems unlikely that Ducky would come out with a new product and instantly offer a nice discount to it.

A group discount entails buying a bulk quantity all at once to allow for everyone to benefit. They don't do such discounts if you're only buying one or two at a time. The point is to buy lots at once like the Gentle Typhoon 2150 group buy that happened recently on OCN.

Look at it this way, in about 8 hours 221 people have signed on. Let's just pretend nobody else signs on and say maybe 150 of those actually buy it.

150 units at $100 a piece is 15K from one sale, At $120 it's $18k.

I'd say that would be a fairly conservative amount of people, or at least judging by the interest on Reddit and OC.net I could easily see 300-400 units at $100 a piece that's over 30K from a sale in a competitive yet rather niche market of high end mechanical keyboards.

I signed up for reddit to and I am hoping for the price to drop. Im just skeptical as when you come out with a new product, you set the price you intend for your distributors to sell it at, or you sell at the price you intend on selling at... As sales decline you introduce discount purchases. I guess imo, It really is based on the scope of Ducky. Im all for a cheaper keyboard...
