What are nice clocks to run on a AMD 6850?

Hi, at the moment I have my on quite stable clocks I haven't encountered any crashing or odd behavior, I've been saving the extra performance of higher clocks for a special occasion or when I get a new processor or other hardware and the increase of newer cards clocked at higher speeds have sort of "inspired" me and I wish to attain pretty nice clocks on my card.

Right now It''s running at 950 core from 790, and 1150Core from 1000.
I haven't touched the voltage, i don't like the concept of over volting and I've only done a tiny bit for my CPU once and then I managed to reset the bios and left It how It was, I could take a small chance with over volting my GPU a little bit to achieve higher clocks which I assume must be possible. I have an ASUS Direct CU II and the highest It's reached on these clocks is about 60celcius so relatively low compared to my old 4850 which would touch 80Celcius and would be scorching (It's still going strong today in another RIG.

Has anyone had or have this card at the moment and have done some overclocking? I've looked around a lot at clocks for the GPU and 950 1150 is about as stable as It can get on stock voltage so I assume a little higher clocks wouldn't hurt much, has anyone got any suggestions?

I've done overclocking before and a lot of benching to test stability so I guess I have an adequate grasp of overclocking as I am highly familiar with It.

Thanks for reading, any suggestions are well appreciated.

Im in the same boat as you, i have just gone crossfire with two 6850's and i cannot get the clocks over 950mhz very frustrating.

Yeah frown.gif my card is pretty cool at load too It could possibly be CPU clocks which are doing this.

my MSI overclocking 6850 cyclones will push 1050 or 1100 if i give them volts, they run 1000 core on stock volts

mind you thier also more robust, stock core clock was 825mhz.

if you can get 950 on stock volts, i say run it that way if your uncomfortable overvolting a bit

Maybe I'll drop a few volts, do you get a noticable performance increase?

flash the bios to an HD6870 bios so you already get the higher clocks and can increase further.
it wont unlock anything but you get a bit higher
