This is my first build log here on OCN hopefully I dont disappoint you. This is my first attempt at making a desk from scratch.

What im working with now.



specs
core i3-2100
gigabyte ga-h61m-ds2
4gb corsair xms 3
xfx hd 5850
rosewill hive-650
500gb wd boot/application drive
1tb wd caviar black storage drive


I will be upgrading my desktop in a little while. parts i plan to replace are as follows:
AsRock fatal1ty P67 performance- done
Intel Xeon 1230 v2-on hold
OCZ solid 3 60gb-done
8gb corsair XMS31333-done
antec h20 620-done
but that will be a little while yet still collecting funds.

any way on to the build. youve seen what im working with but here is what i want it to be. at least somewhere in the ballpark.



everything will be made out of wood except for the glass on the front that will be plexiglass.
I already put the frame together.


after putting the frame together it got to late to start on the top so that will have to wait till tomorrow. so stay tuned for more updates

UPDATE

Got the base all sanded down and stained


also cut a hole in the table top to power everything. 2 power supplies and 3 monitors are going to run off of 1 plug.




then got a nice delivery from newegg so now i can start on the top section that will house everything 4 x 120mm fans, 1 x 250mm fan, pci sata raid card for server, and a 75 in 1 card reader.



I cut apart an old tower to get the motherboard tray out then cut the tray to size and painted it a nice satin black to match





and i also got 2 coats of stain on the top just need to sand and put 1 more coat on then time to clear coat


and thats it for now stay tuned for more

UPDATE
ok got a lot accomplished today.

got the second power supply painted and a new fan installed and got rid of some of the cables that im not gonna need



and the final pic of the night is the top with 2 coats of poly/ clear coat on it. just need to wetsand and do a third coat.
