Also Cuad i must be incapable at reading tonight what pre amps are you worried about?

The preamps on the Presonus 22VSL because I have an SM57 which needs tons of gain. On the Scarlett, I have to have the gain at 95%/5 o'clock, which miraculously is nearly noiseless at listening volumes.

Can i ask what you are miking with the 57. Based on the specs on the presonus audiobox it has very similar or the same preamps as there studiolive consoles. If that's the case then im fairly confident that it would work just fine i had the 16.4.2 for about a year and i was never disappointed with the preamps although other features fell short.
