2kVA is a lot, do you really need it? If not, this one from CyberPower might save you even more: http://www.cpsww.com.au/products/ups_systems/pfc_sinewave/cp1500epfclcd.htm

Cheers mate, my peak power figures were 1000 Watts (taking into account the whole rig running at 100%) and future connectivity if I add to my setup, New monitor, GPU upgrade and the like, I'm new to UPS' as my last few houses had rock solid clean power and a good quality surge protector sufficed. I don't trust this houses power supply

This my friends is the fusebox which is powering my PC, my second rig, housemates Lappy, other housemates PC, XBox 360, 60 inch Plasma, BluRay player, 800Watt 7.1 Surround System and usual generic household electrical items (fridges dryers microwaves etc).
I'd like to go a touch overkill as my rigs have been lovingly built and I'd be devastated if they ended up smoking piles of electronics only good enough to be paperweights

Extra wattage from the UPS isn't going to give you any more protection, so if you can suffice with a lower rated unit, may as well save some cash. In either case, that one you linked looks OK. smile.gif

Much cheaper and I really only need a UPS to smooth out the power delivery and the very occasional emergency, we don't get many Brown/Blackouts here thumb.gif

Hi, I have a question.

I know that someone is not supposed to ran speakers off of a UPS because UPS are not designed for that kind of device.

My question is, will it hurt my speakers and/or UPS if I connect the speakers to the battery and as soon as the battery starts working I turn the speakers off?

Don't ask why but I have to connect my Logitech 5.1 surround to the battery of my UPS so I wanted to ask if I can potentially damage anything by doing that.

It won't hurt it at all.

And for those above, I have purchased that CyberPower for a client and it has already been through 2 power outages and allowed a SBS 2011 server to gracefully shut down without issue. The software is basic but does the job.
